Testimonial: Vitiligo Remission in Laura Martínez — Dr. Jackelin Laza, Lima

From Dioxipedia
Before (top) and after (bottom): vitiligo of the hands in Laura Martínez — marked repigmentation after integrative treatment.

Background

Laura Martínez presented with vitiligo, an autoimmune condition characterized by loss of skin pigmentation due to destruction of melanocytes. In her case, the depigmentation predominantly affected the dorsal surfaces of both hands — large, sharply demarcated white patches confluent over the knuckles, metacarpals, and fingers, with only small islands of normally pigmented skin remaining.

Vitiligo is typically a chronic, progressive condition. Conventional medicine offers limited options — topical corticosteroids and phototherapy — and none of them guarantee repigmentation.

Protocol Applied

Under the care of Dr. HC. Jackelin Laza (Lima, Peru), the patient followed an integrative protocol:

  • CDS (Chlorine Dioxide Solution) — systemic application for cellular oxygenation and immune modulation
  • High-dose IV Vitamin C — antioxidant support and immune system regulation
  • Ozonotherapy — systemic and topical ozone for tissue regeneration
  • Nutritional support — antioxidants and trace minerals essential for melanocyte function
  • Anti-inflammatory diet — reduction of systemic inflammation

Results

The before/after photographs document striking repigmentation of both hands: the sharply demarcated white patches have largely resolved, and the skin tone of the hands and fingers has returned to a uniform, healthy color.

Why This Case Matters

Repigmentation of acral vitiligo (hands and fingers) is considered among the most difficult to achieve with any therapy, as distal extremities are a poor-response area for melanocyte migration. This case documents meaningful repigmentation through an integrative protocol that targets the underlying autoimmune and oxidative-stress mechanisms rather than the surface appearance alone.
