Recurrent Klebsiella pneumoniae Urinary Tract Infection — Clinical Case: Resolution with CDS

Template:Clinical case

Case Summary

Male patient suffered from Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria in urine for approximately 2 years, likely acquired in operating room. Multiple positive urocultures with no medical intervention recommended (physician stated no action needed without symptoms). After discovering CDS during the COVID-19 pandemic (which patient also combated in 48 hours), patient ingested 10 ml of CDS daily for approximately 2 months. The following uroculture was negative. Approximately 2 years after treatment, all urocultures continue to be negative.

Clinical History

Event date: Approximately 2022 to 2024

Geographic context: Argentina

Patient profile: Male patient

Prior medical situation: Patient had Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria in urine for approximately 2 years, likely acquired in operating room (nosocomial infection). Multiple positive urocultures. Physician advised no intervention since patient had no symptoms.

Additional context: Patient also successfully combated COVID-19 in 48 hours using CDS during the pandemic.

Treatment Applied

Protocol C: 10 ml of CDS ingested daily for approximately 2 months.

      1. Clinical Evolution

After approximately 2 months of CDS treatment: - Following uroculture returned negative result - Bacteria eliminated from urinary tract

Long-term follow-up (approximately 2 years after treatment): - All subsequent urocultures continue to be negative - No recurrence of infection

      1. Testimony Original

Patient (Osvaldo José Pappalardo): "For a little more than 2 years approximately, I had the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria in urine, likely acquired in the operating room. I consulted with the professional I considered most appropriate for the case, who suggested that if I had no symptoms, do nothing. After several positive urocultures, I learned about CDS from COVID-19, which I also combated in 48 hours. After that, for approximately 2 months, I ingested 10 ml per day and the next uroculture came out negative. To date, after approximately 2 years, all urocultures continue to give negative results. I attach 2 laboratory studies with positive uroculture."
