Dear Andreas,

Thank you for your efforts in the field of ClO2.

= '''Here is my report on ClO2 when used in the eye.''' =
On November 24, 2022 around 5 pm I had to undergo emergency surgery for retinal detachment at the Inselspital Bern.
[[File:Eye1.jpg|left|thumb]]
The procedure involved injecting “Easy-Gaz” into the cleaned eye to push the retina back to the eye where it should reattach.

After the operation, I had to stay in hospital until Saturday morning and my eye pressure was measured every few hours.

Eye drops were applied every hour and Novartis TobraDex eye ointment in the evening.

On Friday, I studied the package leaflet and noticed the long list of side effects.

The ophthalmologists assured me in conversation that the medication was only intended to protect against infections.

I refused to take the medication from Friday lunchtime.

Back home on Saturday, November 24, I treated my eye every hour with a 0.1% chlorine dioxide solution, sprayed liberally on the closed eye. (I was supposed to use the medication daily as prescribed until it was completely healed)
[[File:Eye2.jpg|thumb]]
I always took a hot bath or shower in the evenings and never used the prescribed eye covers.

I always rinsed my eyes with ClO2 after a bath or shower

On December 24, I had my first follow-up examination with the ophthalmologist in Bern, who found that the healing was going very well and that she was very satisfied.

The final examination took place on January 25 and the ophthalmologist said that I was completely healthy again.

On January 28, the “Easy-Ganz” had completely diffused from the eye.

Conclusion:

Chlorine dioxide protected 100% against inflammation

Chlorine dioxide did not redden, irritate or hurt the eye in any way

I have been using ClO2 for a good 8 years, use it frequently inside and out and have introduced many family members and friends to ClO2.

==== '''Contact lenses & ClO2''' ====
I have been wearing contact lenses since 2002, 30-day lenses that don't need to be taken out in the evening.

Sometimes I was able to wear the lenses for 3 weeks, then again for 3 months, so it varies a lot.

Four years ago I started rinsing the eye with the contact lens in the morning and evening with ClO2 as described above.

The contact lens, which the ophthalmologist removed from the healthy eye for examination on November 24, had been in my eye for almost 4 years without any disturbance, irritation or discomfort.

The ophthalmologist also examined this healthy eye on November 24th and found it to be completely fine.

I hope that this information will help to broaden the range of applications for ClO2.

P.S. Research has shown that sodium chlorite, chlorine dioxide, acidified sodium, chlorite, PURITE or PURATE is also widely used in ophthalmology.

With best regards,
