CERTIFIES:

That Mrs. MIRIAM FERNÁNDEZ GALLEGO, 20 years old, is diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis since 2000; being with oral and/or IV antibiotic therapy in repeated cycles, according to sputum cultures.

He has undergone three embolizations (2010, 2011 and 2013) due to repeated hemoptysis. Due to this fact, inhalation treatments are very limited, although he is sensitive to Tobramycin and Colistin.

In November 2012 the first “in vitro” resistances to antibiotics appear; although “in vivo” he continues to respond to higher doses than usual with TMP/SMX.

In May 2013, due to the lack of efficacy against Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, it was decided to intensify respiratory physiotherapy up to 4 times daily, to improve the patient's quality of life (night rest and to facilitate her university activity).

On the same date, Aspergillus fumigatus treatment was started with Itraconazole and corticotherapy, maintaining it until the end of July 2013; no response was obtained. Sputum cultures showed sensitivity to Voriconazole, but it was not prescribed due to the visual side effects presented years ago.

The family decided to start treatment with MMS on August 17, 2013, with a significant decrease in bronchial secretions, allowing her a normal night's rest and reducing her respiratory physiotherapy sessions to 1-2. As a result, the patient significantly improved her age-appropriate daily lifestyle.

As of the date of this report, the patient has had 2 cycles of 3 activated drops, 8 times a day, of MMS until the sputum culture was negative. Currently, her only oral treatment is a daily glass of seawater. Due to the almost inexistence of bronchial secretions, she continues with a daily respiratory physiotherapy session, performed by a physiotherapist of the French school.
